여전히 안 잡히고 있는데
기사로는 브라질 물량이 나오면 떨어질 것이라 예상. 브라질 수확 + 낮은 기름 가격 - 에탄올 수요 하락으로 결국은 떨어질 것으로 보는 것 같음.
Sugar prices retreated Tuesday on farmer hedge selling ahead of the upcoming Brazil sugar harvest. Conab on Apr 26 forecasted that Brazil's 2023/24 sugar output would climb +4.7% y/y to 38.8 MMT, the second most ever, as crops recover from the previous season's adverse weather.
Another bearish factor for sugar was Tuesday's plunge in crude prices (CLM23) by more than -5% to a 5-week low. Weaker crude prices undercut ethanol prices and may prompt the world's sugar mills to divert more cane crushing toward sugar production than ethanol, thus boosting sugar supplies.
참고로 설탕과 원유의 상관관계는 단순하지 않음. 어쩔 때는 같이 오르다가 어쩔때는 반대 방향으로 가기도.
